My uncle Joe was my dad's next youngest brother and they were close life companions. Uncle Joe was always up for family fun. The whole large family of nine siblings would gather every night in the summers and play pokeno under the Concord grapevine pergola on an extremely long table that my grandfather built.
Many cousins would run around playing until dark. Every so often Uncle Joe would say," It's time for Candid Camera!" He would have us all line up and we'd march to the local shopping center and make a display of ourselves announcing it was Candid Camera; a TV show of that time that secretly filmed ordinary people unknowingly being filmed in antic situations. It would make everyone laugh. He stirred alot of fun and excitement in the air! That was him! He was also a great husband and father, grandfather, great grandfather and volunteer! I am thankful for the memories.
